Land of Oz, Hobbits, and Kiwis

In 2018 Robyn spent a semester abroad attending the University of Tasmania in Hobart, Australia. We weren’t sure she would ever come back so I took it upon myself to go “drag” her back home. Of course I dragged her home via The Southern Ocean, New Zealand, and mainland Australia before finally making it back home.

Tasmania is an Australian island to the south of the mainland. This is an interesting story of how it came to be over the past 180 million years.

Robyn stayed with a host family (Sue and Brett) in Hobart.

Known as “Watering Place” on the charts of Captain James Cook (Resolution, 1777), it was later named Resolution River by Captain William Bligh during his visit on Bounty in 1788.
